Death Cafe

Join the Death Wife, Angela Mizinska for an intimate and meaningful conversations about life’s final chapter at the monthly community Inner West Death Cafe. In a warm, supportive environment they’ll explore thoughts, questions, and feelings about death, dying and end of life – a natural part of the human experience that we rarely get to discuss openly in our daily lives.

This is not a grief support group or therapy session, but rather a space for curious, respectful dialogue about mortality. Their goal is to increase death literacy in our community and normalise conversations about death while embracing the ways it can deepen our appreciation for life. Everyone is welcome whether you’re curious, concerned, or just want to better understand your relationship with mortality. Let’s break the taboo together.

No agenda, no sales pitches – just honest conversation.

Space is limited to ensure an intimate atmosphere. Registration is essential.

This is a regular monthly event, held on the last Wednesday of each month.

ABOUT ANGELA MIZINSKA |  Angela Mizinska is an End of Life Doula and Pet Bereavement Counsellor. She hosts regular Death Cafe events.

She is passionate about increasing death literacy and normalising conversations around all things life, death and everything in between. Bringing into the light subjects that have been kept in the dark.

GETTING THERE | The Polish Club Ashfield is located 182 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. Pedestrian access is only available from Liverpool Road. 
 
TRAIN | We are conveniently only a 5 minute walk from Ashfield Train Station. Take the Brown Street Exit from the train station, and continue up Browns Street until you reach Liverpool Road. Cross the road and continue left. The destination will be on your right. 
 
PARKING | We are delighted to welcome our guests to park their vehicles in our underground carpark. The entrance is located via 73 Norton Street. You can easily enter the club from the carpark using the lift. Alternatively, there is always plenty of street parking in the surrounding area with access to the club via the front entrance on 182 Liverpool Road.
 
CHECK-IN | We welcome everyone at the Club, members and non-members alike. Ensure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the event to be able to check-in at reception. Members can easily scan their members card, and guests can either scan their drivers license or become an associate member for $2. Allow 5 minutes to become a member. Member’s receive 10% discount on selected items. 
 
WIFI | The Polish Club Ashfield offers all guests FREE WiFi. Ask the reception staff upon arrival to access the password. 
 
LUNCH AT STO LAT & POLKA CAFE & DELI | Pair this activity with a lunch at Sto Lat Restaurant or Polka Cafe & Deli. Hot drinks, sandwiches, and cakes are available for purchase at Polka Cafe & Deli from 10:00am. A select lunch menu from Sto Lat Restaurant is available from the Member’s Bar from 12:00pm.
