If you haven’t made it to any of our events this year, this is your last chance to get your dose of táncház for 2025. Combining two of the most exciting dance forms in one action-packed evening, you will be swept off your feet by the exotic tunes and rhythms, expertly led by dance teachers.
 
This will be an event to remember! The two groups met at the National Folk Festival in 2024 where they partied together into the wee hours at the session bar.

 Kengugró & The Transylvaniacs

Since 1987, Kengugró and The Transylvaniacs have performed dances and music from Hungary, Slovakia, and Transylvania. Known for their energetic style, they regularly host táncház (dance-house) events in Sydney, inviting audiences to join in. Their method of teaching traditional dance is recognised on UNESCO’s Intangible Heritage List.

About Estudiantina

Estudiantina of Melbourne – This ensemble reinvigorates the essence of traditional Greek music, igniting a vibrant fusion of cultures and ethnicities. This dynamic ensemble intertwines the rich tapestry of Greek, Turkish, Jewish, and Armenian influences, weaving a captivating musical journey. With a masterful combination of instruments including the oud, bouzouki, violin, kanun, Accordion and guitar, their performances resonate with spellbinding innovation and timeless allure.

GETTING THERE | The Polish Club Ashfield is located 182 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. Pedestrian access is only available from Liverpool Road. 
 
TRAIN | We are conveniently only a 5 minute walk from Ashfield Train Station. Take the Brown Street Exit from the train station, and continue up Browns Street until you reach Liverpool Road. Cross the road and continue left. The destination will be on your right. 
 
PARKING | We are delighted to welcome our guests to park their vehicles in our underground carpark. The entrance is located via 73 Norton Street. You can easily enter the club from the carpark using the lift. Alternatively, there is always plenty of street parking in the surrounding area with access to the club via the front entrance on 182 Liverpool Road.
 
CHECK-IN | Ensure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the event to be able to check-in at reception. Members can easily scan their members card, and guests can either scan their drivers license or become an associate member for $2. Allow 5 minutes to become a member.
