The Laughorama Comedy Night at the Polish Club Ashfield presents an evening of stand-up comedy, bringing together a distinguished lineup of acclaimed performers.
Headlined by Tommy Dean, alongside Carolyn Swindell, Jen Carnovale, and Don Alberto, and with Sorab Daver as Master of Ceremonies, this showcase highlights some of the most respected voices in Australian comedy.
Each performer brings a wealth of experience, with careers spanning television, festivals, and major stages across Australia and beyond. These are mature, seasoned professionals—many of them award-winning—who have built strong individual followings and established reputations as headline acts and producers in their own right.

Tommy Dean (USA)
Tommy Dean is a regular on ABC Radio. Raised in Arizona before moving to Australia in 1992, American stand-up star Tommy Dean occupies the top echelons of Australia’s headline comedy artists. Tommy’s impressive media CV includes appearances on Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Stand Up Australia, Rove Live and The Sideshow as well as multiple appearances on Just For Laughs‘ TV stand-up series filmed at the Sydney Opera House.
Jen Carnovale
Jen Carnovale is a comedian from Sydney who has traveled from quaint bookstores in Canberra to Latvian kind-of scary warehouses for stand up. She has toured across the UK, Australia, all the good looking parts of Europe and tasty parts of Asia, Jen has performed for Comedy Central Australia, Frocking Hilarious for Action Aid, opened for Doug Stanhope, a regular guest on ABC iviews Bookish and was invited to perform with All Together Now for Comedy Vs Racism.
Natalie May
Natalie May has performed as a professional ventriloquist for 30 years and along the way has been nominated for 8 Australian Club Entertainment awards (including Best new Talent, Best Sight Act, Best childrens performer) and 2 of the prestigious MO awards (best new talent and best sight act), I found a home entertaining across the clubs, corporate events, private events and schools of Australia, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and beyond.
Laura Coleman
Laura Coleman is a Two-time finalist in Triple J’s RAW Comedy contest and has performed at the Melbourne International and Sydney Comedy Festivals. ABC’s Taskmaster host Tom Cashman described her as “one of my favourite new comics”.
Don Alberto
Don Alberto is an Australian Italian entertainer, writer and journalist, whose sharp wit and lively storytelling have won him audiences across comedy clubs, festivals and community stages. Often compared to Rodney Dangerfield, blending classic comedic timing with a modern multicultural flair, he has shared stages with household names such Natalie Imbruglia (Singing Superstar), Michael Hing (The Project Channel Ten) and Academy Award Winners.
Sorab Daver (MC/Host)
Sorab Daver is a rising star in the world of Stand Up Comedy. Known for his sharp wit, relatable storytelling and knack for finding humour in life’s everyday chaos, Sorab’s unique multicultural observations will have you rolling in the aisles. A Cruise Ship favourite and a Sydney Comedy Championship Winner Sorab has very quickly gained a loyal following in Sydney, and will be your MC for the evening.

TRAIN | Only a 5-minute walk from Ashfield Train Station.
Take the Brown Street exit from the station and continue up Brown Street until you reach Liverpool Road. Cross the road and turn left, then follow the short path to our doors.
FREE UNDERGROUND PARKING | Entrance via 73 Norton Street.
The Club is accessible via the lift. On days when the car park is full, there is plenty of street parking in the surrounding area, with access to the Club through the front entrance at 182 Liverpool Road.
CLUB CHECK-IN REQUIRED | Beat the rush—give yourself time to check in at reception. Members enjoy fast-track check-in by simply scanning their Member Card. Guests can check in by scanning their driver’s licence or by becoming an Associate Member. Member’s receive 10% discount on selected items & other Member privileges. Ask one of our friendly staff about Membership, and allow a few extra minutes to sign up.
