School Holiday Polish Rhyme Time

Polish Rhyme & Story Time is a fun interactive session of singing and rhymes for children aged 0-6 years

The program fosters a love of reading and helps develop important early literacy skills and social interaction. It is a friendly, inclusive space for parents and carers to meet up, mingle and make new friends.

This event is hosted by Ewelina Ellsmore. Ewelina is a Polish Language Educator at Liverpool Polish Saturday School/Australia.

PLEASE NOTE

  • This activity will run for approximately 1 hour and will be held indoors.
  • This class is suitable for children aged between 0 and 6 years. This is an approximation and we understand that every child has different levels of ability. You are the best judge of whether this activity is appropriate for your child.
  • Please plan to arrive at least 10-minutes before class and check in at reception. Adults need a valid Drivers Licence or ID to sign in. 
  • This is not a drop off service. All parents & guardians are required to stay within the building at all times while their child is in class.
  • Tea, coffee and treats can be purchased from Polka Cafe & Deli on the day. Please consider making a Sto Lat Restaurant lunch reservation online before you visit to avoid waiting.

ABOUT YOUR HOST | Ewelina Ellsmore is a Polish Language Educator, and enjoys sharing her knowledge of the Polish language, its traditions, and history with new generations of children. She is an initiator and organiser of many events and projects promoting Polish language and Polish culture in Sydney. In 2023, she introduced the bilingual Polish/English Story Time at the NSW State Library.

ABOUT LIVERPOOL POLISH SATURDAY SCHOOL | Liverpool Polish Saturday School is a not-for-profit, community-focused organisation run by a school management committee, professional and highly experienced teachers, and passionate volunteers who value the power of language knowledge and delivering crafted activities that create a life-long love for the Polish language, the Polish culture, and heritage. Liverpool Polish Saturday School is proud to champion best practices in Polish language teaching, ensuring accessibility and fostering engagement with parents and stakeholders from across the NSW community.

 

GETTING THERE | The Polish Club Ashfield is located 182 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. Pedestrian access is only available from Liverpool Road. 
 
TRAIN | We are conveniently only a 5 minute walk from Ashfield Train Station. Take the Brown Street Exit from the train station, and continue up Browns Street until you reach Liverpool Road. Cross the road and continue left. The destination will be on your right. 
 
PARKING | We are delighted to welcome our guests to park their vehicles in our underground carpark. The entrance is located via 73 Norton Street. You can easily enter the club from the carpark using the lift. Alternatively, there is always plenty of street parking in the surrounding area with access to the club via the front entrance on 182 Liverpool Road.
 
CHECK-IN | We welcome everyone at the Club, members and non-members alike. Ensure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the event to be able to check-in at reception. Members can easily scan their members card, and guests can either scan their drivers license or become an associate member for $2. Allow 5 minutes to become a member. Member’s receive 10% discount on selected items. 
 
WIFI | The Polish Club Ashfield offers all guests FREE WiFi. Ask the reception staff upon arrival to access the password. 
 
LUNCH AT STO LAT & POLKA CAFE & DELI | Pair this activity with a lunch at Sto Lat Restaurant or Polka Cafe & Deli. Hot drinks, sandwiches, and cakes are available for purchase at Polka Cafe & Deli from 10:00am. A select lunch menu from Sto Lat Restaurant is available from the Member’s Bar from 12:00pm.
