From powerful footwork to colourful costumes and joyful rhythms, this cross-cultural collaboration promises an unforgettable afternoon of folklore, friendship, and festivity, a true meeting point of two proud cultures, united through dance.

Stonožka Slovakian Dance Group

Stonožka Slovakian Dance Group proudly shares the rich cultural heritage of Slovakia through vibrant folk dance, traditional music, and beautifully crafted costumes. Their performances capture the spirit of Slovak village life, storytelling, and celebration, combining lively footwork, graceful movement, and infectious energy. Deeply rooted in tradition yet performed with a contemporary passion, Stonožka brings generations together on stage, creating an authentic and joyful experience that celebrates culture, community, and national pride

Polish Folkloric Ensemble Syrenka

Based in Ashfield, Sydney, Syrenka has been performing for over 55 years and now includes more than 100 dancers, making it one of Australia’s largest Polish folk groups. They’ve appeared at major events like the Sydney Opera House opening, the 2000 Olympics, and international Polish festivals in Rzeszów. With authentic and handmade costumes, live music, and choreography blending song, acrobatics, and storytelling, Syrenka promotes Polish culture while educating young members in tradition and language.

GETTING THERE | The Polish Club Ashfield is located 182 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. Pedestrian access is only available from Liverpool Road. 
 
TRAIN | We are conveniently only a 5 minute walk from Ashfield Train Station. Take the Brown Street Exit from the train station, and continue up Browns Street until you reach Liverpool Road. Cross the road and continue left. The destination will be on your right. 
 
PARKING | We are delighted to welcome our guests to park their vehicles in our underground carpark. The entrance is located via 73 Norton Street. You can easily enter the club from the carpark using the lift. Alternatively, there is always plenty of street parking in the surrounding area with access to the club via the front entrance on 182 Liverpool Road.
 
CHECK-IN | Ensure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the event to be able to check-in at reception. Members can easily scan their members card, and guests can either scan their drivers license or become an associate member for $5. Allow 5 minutes to become a member.
